Sometimes called a mastopexy, breast lift surgery offers the opportunity to rejuvenate your breasts. Women with sagging breasts due to age, significant weight loss, or with nipples that point downward can use this procedure to achieve the youthful, attractive physique they desire. Women can decide to get a breast lift alone, or a breast augmentation via implants can be performed simultaneously to lift and add volume to the breast.
Breast lift surgery is a popular cosmetic surgery that helps tighten the skin around your breasts, pull your nipples up, and create a youthful appearance. It can also be used to achieve other goals, including reducing the size of your areolas if they have become enlarged. The main goal of the procedure is to removing excess skin and reshapes breast tissue to lift sagging breasts.
A breast lift surgery raises your breasts and lifts your areolas, but understanding the procedure is important.
At Revive, we believe in giving you the information necessary to make an informed decision about your body.
A breast lift does exactly what it sounds like – it lifts your breasts, creating the youthful, perky physique you deserve. It also reshapes your breasts, removes excess skin and tissue, reduces the size of your areolas, and lifts your nipples to a higher position. It does this without increasing the size of your breasts, although breast augmentation with implants is possible during the lift if your breasts have lost volume over time.
The first step in the process is a breast lift consultation with Dr. Askari to determine the right path and which breast lift incision is recommended for you based on your starting point, goals, and expectations. The amount of breast sag, nipple position, breast size, and breast volume loss will determine which of the five breast lift incision types will be best: crescent lift, donut lift, lollipop lift, anchor lift, or extended anchor lift.
A breast lift is a surgical procedure that requires general anesthesia for more extensive breast lift, and local anesthesia for less invasive lifts such as the crescent lift. For the most common breast lift, you will be asleep for the procedure. Your recovery process will vary depending on the type of incision/lift performed, with crescent lifts requiring much less recovery than extended anchor lifts. In some cases, you’ll be ready to return to your normal activities within a few days, but many lifts require up to two weeks of recovery.
We recommend that patients move around within the first 48 hours, sitting up and maybe engaging in light walking. A surgical bra will need to be worened for a few weeks. Strenuous activities and heavy lifting should be avoided for the first six weeks after surgery. Limiting sun exposure for the first few months will allows your scars to heal better, and fade away.
The breast lift cost vary widely depending on the type of incision, as well as whether breast augmentation or reduction is performed at the same time. On average, the cost for a breast lift in Miami can very between $4,000 and $8,000.
The best candidate for a breast lift procedure is a woman who is dissatisfied with her breast shape and/or areola size and position due to sagging, thinning, nipple droop/position, and more, and who wants to rejuvenate her breasts and achieve a more youthful, firmer look.
