What is a Breast Lift Surgery?

Breast lift surgery is a popular cosmetic surgery that helps tighten the skin around your breasts, pull your nipples up, and create a youthful appearance. It can also be used to achieve other goals, including reducing the size of your areolas if they have become enlarged. The main goal of the procedure is to removing excess skin and reshapes breast tissue to lift sagging breasts.
A breast lift surgery raises your breasts and lifts your areolas, but understanding the procedure is important.
At Revive, we believe in giving you the information necessary to make an informed decision about your body.

How Does a Breast Lift Work?

A breast lift does exactly what it sounds like – it lifts your breasts, creating the youthful, perky physique you deserve. It also reshapes your breasts, removes excess skin and tissue, reduces the size of your areolas, and lifts your nipples to a higher position. It does this without increasing the size of your breasts, although breast augmentation with implants is possible during the lift if your breasts have lost volume over time.

The first step in the process is a breast lift consultation with Dr. Askari to determine the right path and which breast lift incision is recommended for you based on your starting point, goals, and expectations. The amount of breast sag, nipple position, breast size, and breast volume loss will determine which of the five breast lift incision types will be best: crescent lift, donut lift, lollipop lift, anchor lift, or extended anchor lift.

Types of Breast Lift Incisions

Each woman’s breasts are unique, and creating a youthful, perky physique requires a different approach. The most common breast lift techniques used today include the following.

Crescent Lift

This breast lift procedure is recommended for women with minor breast sagging. The primary goal is to align your areolas by creating a crescent-shaped incision along the upper half of the areola. This type of breast lift does not remove excess skin from the entire breast and only focuses on realigning or lifting the nipples partially.

Donut Lift

For women with enlarged areolas or tuberous breasts, a donut breast lift may be recommended. In this cosmetic procedure, Dr. Askari will create a donut-shaped incision all the way around the areola to correct the nipple shape. A donut lift can also correct minor sagging.

Lollipop Lift

Women who experience mild sagging and have small to medium-sized breasts may benefit from a lollipop breast lift. In this procedure, two incisions are made, one around the areola (circle) and one vertically down to the breast fold. This lift allows Dr. Askari to remove excess tissue (mild) and reposition the nipples.

Anchor Lift

Women with sagginess, larger breasts, and/or nipples pointing down may benefit from an anchor breast lift. This procedure expands on the lollipop lift by adding a third incision along the breast fold, creating a shape like an anchor. It can correct major sagging, reshape your breasts, reduce your areola size, and reposition your nipples.

Extended Anchor Lift

Women with major sagging and who want to reshape their breasts dramatically may want to consider an extended anchor lift. This is the most comprehensive type of breast lift procedure and allows Dr. Askari maximum access to the tissue to reshape, reposition, and lift as necessary.

Breast Augmentation combined with Breast Lifts

While many women find that they only need a lift to regain their youthful shape, some want to regain lost volume. This is particularly true for women with considerable sagging, as well as those who have lost weight. Breast augmentation can easily be performed in conjunction with a breast lift, and our patients have several options available.

Extended Anchor Lift

Perhaps the most familiar option to add volume is the use of breast implants. You can choose from saline and silicone implants, and Dr. Askari will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of both types

Breast Auto-Augmentation | Breast tissue repositioning

In some cases, breast implants are not the right path. For these patients, auto-augmentation using their own breast tissue is a better option. This is primarily beneficial for patients who want an upper pole fullness and have breast volume, just not at the right place.

Breast Fat Transfer/Grafting

In some instances, the body’s own fat can be used to create fuller, more youthful breasts. Fat can be harvested from the abdomen or thighs for this purpose, and it is often combined with liposuction procedures.

Recovery After a Breast Lift Surgery

A breast lift is a surgical procedure that requires general anesthesia for more extensive breast lift, and local anesthesia for less invasive lifts such as the crescent lift. For the most common breast lift, you will be asleep for the procedure. Your recovery process will vary depending on the type of incision/lift performed, with crescent lifts requiring much less recovery than extended anchor lifts. In some cases, you’ll be ready to return to your normal activities within a few days, but many lifts require up to two weeks of recovery.
We recommend that patients move around within the first 48 hours, sitting up and maybe engaging in light walking. A surgical bra will need to be worened for a few weeks. Strenuous activities and heavy lifting should be avoided for the first six weeks after surgery. Limiting sun exposure for the first few months will allows your scars to heal better, and fade away.

What Is the Cost of a Breast Lift in Miami?

The breast lift cost vary widely depending on the type of incision, as well as whether breast augmentation or reduction is performed at the same time. On average, the cost for a breast lift in Miami can very between $4,000 and $8,000.

The Lipo 360 procedure removes fat immediately, unlike other body contouring procedures that kill fat cells but leave them in place for the body to eliminate naturally. However, because this is a surgical procedure, some patients may not see immediate results in terms of size reduction. It can take time for swelling to subside and for your skin and underlying tissues to return to normal. You should expect it to take a few weeks for your body to heal, followed by at least a few more weeks of minor inflammation. As the inflammation reduces over time, you’ll notice more and more significant results from the process.
Yes, it does. The best candidates for Lipo 360 have a body mass index of less than 42. Your body mass index, usually abbreviated as BMI, is your weight in pounds divided by the square of your height in feet. It can provide a great deal of information, including helping determine your risk factor for specific diseases and whether you are a good fit for particular procedures.
Yes, Lipo 360 permanently removes fat cells. However, new cells can still form if your weight increases over time. When you gain weight, fat cells increase in both size and volume. New cells can be added, as well. Liposuction-based procedures, including Lipo 360, reduce the number of fat cells within specific areas. The cells removed during the procedure are permanently removed. This helps reshape your body and define your curves.
No, it does not. Lipo 360 is so-called because it focuses on the circumference of your torso, including the upper and lower abdominals, the flanks/sides, and your mid and lower back. If you wish to remove fat from your thighs, an additional liposuction procedure will be necessary. You may also be a candidate for laser or cryotherapy. Contact us to discuss your needs and we’ll be happy to highlight all the combinations that can help you achieve your body contouring goals.
While Lipo 360 does use liposuction technology, the procedure itself is very different from the traditional liposuction procedure. Traditional liposuction procedures focus on a single body part – the abdomen or the thigh, for example. Lipo 360 is a specially designed procedure that allows your surgeon to remove stubborn fat deposits from around the entire circumference (body areas) of your torso during a single procedure.
It also differs in other ways, including allowing your surgeon to contour specific areas and create a cohesive shape for your torso. It’s also less invasive overall, despite allowing access to the entire midsection.
Yes! We regularly work with clients who combine Lipo 360 with other liposuction procedures. For instance, many of our clients want to reshape their thighs and midsections. We’re also happy to combine Lipo 360 with other plastic surgery options, including tummy tucks, facelifts, a Brazilian butt lift, breast augmentation/reduction, and more.
